27.10. Weekend is finally here!

It’s going to be a really interesting weekend. Full of architecture, art, women rights, birthday celebrations of different clubs, cafes, halloween dances, latex and glitter.

FRIDAY, 27.10

5 PM – ZODIAK – SPATIAL BALLET AND ARCHITECTURE WALK
Next year, the legendary Zodiak pavilion on the Wiech Passage will be opened. The ground floor will be occupied by the Association of Polish Architects, and the first floor will belong to the local Economic Information Centre. During this weekend as a part of the “See you at Zodiak next year” event, “Spatial Ballet” by Iza Rutkowska will take place. During the weekend participants in “architectural” outfits will appear on the Wiech Passage. Moreover, there will be a guided tour from Defilad Square to the Eastern Wall with Igor Łysiuk (meeting point next to the Studio Bar, 5 PM). Admission free, full programme at: www.pawilonzodiak.pl

4 PM – 8 PM – ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS (Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie 37/39) – TOP 10 INNOVATIONS IN ARCHITECTURE
Presentation of the finalists and public jury debate for the most innovative Polish architecture organized by the “Architektura-murator” magazine. Unfortunately among the finalists there are no projects from Warsaw but still it will be very interesting to listen to the architects trying to convince the jury to their projects. Admission free.

8 PM – AUSTRA AT NIEBO (Nowy Świat St 21)
A Canadian electropop band with Katie Stelmanis as a vocalist comes to Warsaw with their new album titled “Future Politics”. Tickets: 90 PLN.

SATURDAY, 28.10

9 AM – 11 AM – 3rd ANNIVERSARY OF STOR (Tamka St 33)
Stor celebrates its birthday from Friday to Sunday (8:30 AM- 9:30 PM). During these days there will be many attractions for example 50% discount on black coffee and prosecco. Moreover, on Saturday swap of plants, preserves, bakings and books on gardening. Bring what you don’t want anymore, take what you need. Plant market organized by Projekt: Roślina.

10 AM – 6 PM – HUGE BOOK MARKET AT BIG BOOK CAFÉ (Dąbrowskiego St 81)
Books in very attractive prices. 1 PLN from every purchase will be donated to the 2018 Big Book Festival. We recommend and support!

12:30 PM – Foksal Gallery Foundation (Górskiego St 1a) – FILM SCREENING OF WILHELM SASNAL’S SHORT MOVIES
It is just an exemplary hour because there will be more film sets on Saturday and Sunday. You will see “Columbus”, “Koreks”, “Kacper”, “Elvis” and “Afternoon of a Faun”. Book a free ticket online here… The Foksal Gallery Foundation showcases the artist’s exhibition which due to high demand was extended till 10th November. During weekend the gallery is open on Saturday from 12 PM – 6 PM.

2 PM – Studio Gallery (Palace of Culture and Science) – WARSAW UNDER CONSTRUCTION EXHIBITION
Curatorial guided tour of the “Defilad Square: A Step Forward” exhibition by Szymon Maliborski. You can read our interview with a curator of the festival Tomasz Fudala here…

9 PM – REGINA’S FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY / HALLOWEEN (Koszykowa St 1)
The year has passed. This day you can expect Regina in all its glory: dances, food, drinks. Put a red lipstick on and get the Red Lips shot for free. Admission free.

SUNDAY, 29.10

11 AM – 9 PM – CITY OF WOMEN. LET’S MEET AT DEFILAD SQUARE
Dziewuchy Dziewuchom and Café Kulturalna organize all day full of events related to women rights. In the programme: workshops for girls “Know your powers” (11 AM), photo workshops with Zuza Krajewska (1 PM), commemorative bird’s eye photo (4 PM, don’t forget your umbrella), discussion on the Black Protest and contemporary situation of women in Poland (5 PM). Admission free.

2 PM – National Museum ( Jerozolimskie St 3) – “URBAN REVOLT” EXHIBITION
New exhibition at the National Museum showcases artists linked to the avant-garde communities located in the major cities in the Second Polish Republic. Curatorial guided tour with Ewa Skolimowska and Anna Turowicz. Admission in a price of a ticket.

5 PM – Museum of Warsaw (Old Town Market Square 28-42) – SCREENING “PATERSON” BY JIM JARMUSCH (SYRENA CINEMA)
A good reason to visit the Museum of Warsaw. It turns out that there is “Syrena” cinema on the premises of the museum which offers an interesting repertoire and affordable prices. Tickets: 10 PLN.

10 PM – “HEAVY GLITTER – WET LATEX” 1st ANNIVERARY OF POGŁOS (Burakowska St 12)
Pogłos celebrates its first birthday. Latex and glitter preferred at the entrance. Admission: 15 PLN.
