6 PM – OPENINIG OF “THE OTHER TRANS-ATLANTIC” EXHIBITION – Museum of Modern Art (Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie St 22)
As ever at this institution, an exhibition which any other high rank museum in the world would be proud of. The MoMA again presents an ignored motif this time kinetic art and op-art. And as usual it is showcased in a different way. According to the thesis, in the 50s-70s there were some similarities between these two trends in the region of Europe and Latin America. The feeling of uncertainty, instability, desire to create something on the ruins of new society – these are very popular issues even nowadays. Admission free.
7 PM – KAROL GRYGORUK AT LEICA (Mysia St 3)
The openinig and premiere of Karol Grygoruk’s album entitled “I Love You Dad”. On Saturday at the same time a meeting with a photographer and a host Monika Szewczyk-Witek. Admission free.
all weekend – 11th FIVE FLAVOURS FESTIVAL
A unique festival presenting the most interesting new movies from East and Southeast Asia for example Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Bangladesh. The festival will last till 22nd November. Movie screenings at Muranów and Kinoteka. Tickets: 20 PLN. Details here….
8 PM – KOBIETA Z WYDM AT POGŁOS (BURAKOWSKA ST 12)
The band consists of Błażej Król and his wife Iwona, with whom he played in Lauda duet and Mateusz Rychlicki known from Kristen band. Their debut album “Bental” was released this year with Thinman Records. They describe their music “as a mixture of strange anxiety. Dark and covered with silt, but with some beams of light”. Tickets: 25 PLN.
10 PM – MAM TO NA KASECIE AT BAR STUDIO (Studio Theatre, Palace of Culture and Science)
On Friday we will not only dance at Bar Studio but Misty from Soul Service will offer us a real travel in time.
10 AM – 7 PM – BAZARCH AT HALA GWARDII
Under our patronage. Book fairs on architecture and city organized by Centrum Architektury. Among sellers there will be: Bęc Zmiana, Magazyn Miasta, Karakter, 40 000 Malarzy, Museum of Warsaw. Fairs are open also on Sunday from 11 AM – 7 PM. Admission free.
11 AM – 6 PM- ZETPETY – FOLK WORKSHOPS AT SOHO FACTORY (Mińska St 25)
How to make folk staw chandeliers, bead applications from Łowicz, string shopping bags? Masters will show you these tricks. Participation: 35 PLN. Details here… In the factory hall number 19 there will also be a café with homemade cakes and the exhibition of Patka Smirnow’s and Karina Królak’s project called “re4rest”.
12 PM – “BAŁWAN W LODÓWCE “(“SNOWMAN INSIDE THE FRIDGE “) – BOOK PREMIERE – Raster Gallery (Wspólna St 63)
It is a story full of humour about the adventures of two kids whose dad works in a gallery of modern art. Story: Łukasz Gorczyca, illustrations: Krzysztof Gawronkiewicz. During the Saturday meeting one of the heroes of the book, an artist Oskar Dawicki will read a chapter on a snowman. Take kids with you.
8 PM – DICK4DICK AT GRIZZLY BAR (Wilcza St 46)
Premiere of the seventh album of Dick4Dick entitled “Dick4Dick is a Woo!Man”. Tickets: 30 PLN.
9 PM – RAP KINGZ AT KRÓLESTWO WWA (Mikołaja Reja St 9)
Kings of the hiphop parties invite you to dances. Cent and Nusz on stage. Admission: 10 PLN.
9 AM – 18 PM “PLACE. 3/5 TŁOMACKIE STREET”
On the ocassion of the 70th anniversary of the Jewish Historical Institute, Agata Madejska, Ronit Porat and Anna Orłowska created works which refer to the history of the building of the JHI and its surrounding. Admission free.
