Quite a daunting task to choose only ten places. However, we do it for those who don’t have enough time but want to indulge in the climate of the right side of Warsaw. Here is our top 10 list.
1. SKARYSZEWSKI PARK
One of the most beautiful parks in Warsaw. There are art deco sculptures from the 20s of the 20th century and plants from various regions of Poland. You can drink coffee at Misianka or Dziki Lokator and take a stroll through neighbouring allotments located on the other side of Aleja Waszyngtona. Such rural gardens in the middle of the city are rare nowadays.
2. STREETS OF OLD PRAGA
Choosing one particular street is difficult. Just wander through Brzeska (eat pyzy at Pyzy Flaki Gorące, at 29), Ząbkowska, Wileńska (Look Inside at 21), Stalowa Street where you will feel the climate of the post-war Warsaw. A visit to the Museum of Praga (Targowa St 50/52) will also be an excellent choice.
3. RECREATIONAL ROUTE AT THE WILD BANK
The right, wild bank of the river is our pride. You can cycle through a footbridge suspended under the Łazienkowski Bridge and go along the river by recreational route. You will pass by beautiful beaches, clubs, the red and white crown of National Stadium and eco playgrounds for children. You can set a bonfire and rest admiring the excellent view of the city.
4. BIAŁA- EAT AND DRINK
Francuska St 2
An excellent starting point for a walk through Saska Kępa- one of the most picturesque parts of Warsaw. Eat lunch at Biała– a place situated in a spectacular avant-garde modernist villa designed in the 30s of the 20th century by Lucjan Korngold and Piotr Maria Lubiński for the Łepkowski family. As for dessert visit Lukullus in Francuska St (corner of Walecznych St).
Paryska St 17
An ideal place for shopping if you look for something special from Warsaw. It can be a dress or jewelry from a renowned Polish designer, ceramics or graphic design.
Finlandzka St 12a
This vegan ramen is already legendary that is why don’t be shy and stand in the line to get inside this tiny place in Saska Kępa. In the neighbourhood there is an excellent gallery- BWA Warszawa (Jakubowska St 16). Book a line at Vegan Ramen Shop and in the meantime drop by to the gallery.
7. POWSZECHNY THEATRE
Zamoyskiego St 20
Currently one the best theatres in Warsaw so if you want to see a play, this is the right place. Alternatively, visit Komuna Warszawa in Lubelska St 30/32. The right bank of the Vistula river is lucky to have such excellent scenes.
8. CLUB CENTRE IN LISTOPADA ST 22
Perfect place for evening fun. Chmury and Hydrozagadka always offer some exciting concerts and good parties.
Soho Factory, Mińska St 25
Unique neon advertisements from all around Poland, dating from the 1950s to 80s of the 20th century gathered in one place. Neon commercials are one of the most capturing examples of the modern design.
10. ANTYKWARIAT GROCHOWSKI
Kickiego St 12
It is probably one of the best antiquarian bookshops in town. For sure it is the biggest. There are two adjoining labyrinths with books, newspapers, old prints, photographs, postcards, knick-knacks and a wide choice of vinyl records (new and vintage). You can sit on a coach, read a book, drink orangeade or listen to your favourite album.
